THE LOCK-UP AND NEWCASTLE ART GALLERY BIKE TOUR

5PM -7PM FRIDAY 31 MARCH 2017

A joint special event presented by The Lock-Up and Newcastle Art Gallery, exploring two current exhibitions that reflect on migration, arrival and the experiences of those who seek refuge.

Start at The Lock-Up with an introduction to KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOUR by Director Jessi England. Then jump on your bike and head to Newcastle Art Gallery for a floor talk by Exhibition Coordinator James Collis on THE ISLAND. Wrap it up with a glass of wine from the pop-up bar as part of 'Last Fridays' at Newcastle Art Gallery.

KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOUR at The Lock-Up explores migration - in a world where the movement of stateless peoples worldwide proportionately rivals that of the post WWII era. Concurrently, ALEX SETON: THE ISLAND, currently on display at Newcastle Art Gallery, contemplates and questions Australia’s role in the international asylum debate.

BYO bicycle and safety gear.

FREE EVENT, bookings essential - click here to book.
