In Conversation with Gionni di Gravio, Vanessa Finney, Belinda Howden, Cherie Cherie Johnson, Emma van Leest.

06 Sep 2014, 2pm - 3pm

A not to be missed event on the opening weekend featuring Ash Island and its Transformations exhibition curator Belinda Howden, artists Cherie Johnson and Emma van Leest, and special guests Gionni de Gravio, Archivist from the University of Newcastle Cultural Collections and Chair of the Coal River Working Party, and Vanessa Finney, Records and Archives Manager at the Australian Museum.

Sure to be fascinating and insightful, the ‘In Conversation’ will explore the pre and postcolonial cultural significance of Kooragang Island, the legacy of the Scott family, as well as the artists practice and their response to the subject. An original edition of Australian Lepidoptera and their Transformations will be available for public viewing as part of the event.
