ABOUT MADISON BYCROFT
Madison Bycroft is an artist from Adelaide, South Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts with first class honours at the University of South Australia in 2012. She has a multi media practice, including video, sculpture, ceramics and performance. For the artist the process of unlearning the self can lead to a more empathetic understanding of the complex relationship between humans, animals and objects. Her work explores ideas of ‘animism’, in which non-human entities such as animals, plants and inanimate objects or phenomena are thought to possess a spiritual essence. Bycroft is the recipient of the 2014 Samstag Scholarship.
